Society for Extender Extenders and Reconstructions e.V - SEER
Welcome to the website of the Society for Extender Extenders and Reconstructions e.V ..
The Society of Extension and Rehabilitation of Extremities, formerly the Association for Research and Application of Ilizarovs Methods, (ASAMI) is an original application of the use and development of the ring fixator for the reconstruction of deformed and truncated extremities.
Based on the studies and the life work of Gavriil Ilizarov from Kurgan, Russia (1919-1992), extremity reconstructions and extensions have been successfully carried out worldwide for many years.
However, the techniques and procedures have been significantly modified and further developed in recent years, so that the indicative areas could be adapted or extended. In particular, internal systems (so-called extension marknails) that work with high precision and reliability and are comfortable for the patient have now gained significantly in importance.
As a result, the club changed its name in 2014 in order to highlight the current content of the work and not the history of society.
