Colombia Society of Orthopaedic Surgery - CSOS - SCCOT
The Foundation of the Colombian Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology was not a casual fact.
The Colombian Orthopedics had been recording their presence since 1930, when the conditions of the locomotor system were treated at Bogotá's San Juan de Dios Hospital in special clinics merged with surgical clinics.
The initiation of activities at the Hospital San José in 1902, influenced the strengthening of Orthopedics and Traumatology as an increasingly independent specialty.
The Foundation of the International Society for Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) in 1929 and the founding of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons AAOS in 1930 were lights that illuminated the Colombian environment for its Orthopedics to take shape.
