Japan Society for Surgical Wound Care JSSWC
The Japan Society for Surgical Wound Care (JSSWC) was established as a subsection of the Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in July 2008 with the purpose of training medical specialists to treat wounds and scars.
The motto of the JSSWC is Heal wounds and scars neatly and heal hard-to-heal wounds quickly. This approach represents an attempt to improve the quality of life of patients.
Although the JSSWC only had 50 founder members, as many plastic surgeons understood the need for such a society, it subsequently expanded to 1,460 members (392 surgical specialists in wound care) in only eight years.
