Korean American Spine Society KASS - KOA Sub-Specialty Society
Korean Society of Spine Surgery, founded in 1984, performs spring and fall congress annually.
From 1994, Journal of Korean Society of Spine Surgery was published.
It was two volumes a year from 1994-1999, which was expanded to four volumes a year from 2000.
Cumulative index for the journal was published in 2002 and the history of the past twenty years (1984-2004) was published in 2004.
The society opens spine symposium every year from 1997 to educate new knowledges to the residents and board certifies doctors.
There are three committees (editorial, academic, computerizing) and four research societies (lumbar, cervical minimal invasive and deformity).
Four hundred members are enrolled and many of them are regular members of Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), North American Spine Society (NASS), International Society for the Study of Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), and Pasific and Asian Society of Minimal Invasive Spine Surgery(PASMISS).
