Spanish Society of Traumatology and Veterinary Orthopedics SSTVO - SETOV
SETOV was born as a result of the concerns of a number of veterinarians who shared their intense dedication to the specialty of small animal trauma and orthopedics. It was at the beginning of 1999 when this group of veterinarians held a series of meetings with the aim of beginning to shape what would later be known as the Spanish Society of Veterinary Traumatology and Orthopedics (SETOV). These meetings were held during the first months of 1999, and finally on October 15, 1999, a meeting was held in Madrid which was attended by the following veterinarians: Dr. Miguel Ruiz (Madrid), Dr. José Luís Vérez (Ferrol), Dr. Josep de la Fuente (Barcelona) and Dra. Margarita Ruíz (Madrid). At said meeting, it was agreed, on the one hand, to establish under Law 191/1. 964 of December 24, a Society that would be called the Spanish Society of Veterinary Traumatology and Orthopedics (SETOV), on the other hand, approve the statutes that would govern SETOV, and finally appoint the Board of Directors, which was constituted as follows: Dr. Miguel Ruíz (President), Dr. José Luís Vérez (Vice President and Secretary), Dr. Josep de la Fuente (Treasurer) and Dra. Margarita Ruiz (Member). These minutes were sent to the General Technical Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior, receiving the reply and approval on November 22, 1999, the date on which it was incorporated into the National Registry of Associations under number 165708.
